Roy has over 26 years’ experience in financial services and is a specialist Self Managed Super Fund (SMSF) adviser.
Prior to financial planning, Roy practised for 16 years as an accountant for firms such as Unilever, Amcor, Lion Nathan and Avnet Integrand.
As CFO for a global technology manufacturer with $100 million turnover, Roy honed his skills in assessing, critically analysing and understanding the commercial viability of decisions made in relation to capital leasing arrangements, cash flow management and financial modelling. As a result, Roy has a pragmatic approach to financial issues and how to resolve them. He has an innate ability to understand clients’ strategies and financial visions and the implications of these for their goals.
Roy has been teaching Financial Planning and SMSF Investment Strategies at Sydney University’s Centre of Continuing Education for the past nine years. His focus has been wholly on education and empowering over 1,000 people to make smarter financial decisions that have a positive impact on their lives.
Roy has been married to Deborah for 15 years. They have two beautiful daughters, Lara and Elise, and a crazy dog, Buddy, who just loves to eat shoes, but only the left ones.
In his spare time he loves water skiing and scuba diving. He knows every basketball court in NSW from supporting Elise’s representative playing. And if he’s not at a basketball court, Roy can be found supporting Lara in any one of Sydney’s gymnastics courts, praying she doesn’t break a leg falling off those skinny beams.
